Our History

Notre Histoire

We are Valentin and Louis-Marie and together we created KANAP .

But let’s go back a little, because our story begins well before this project…

Both originally from Brittany , it was on the bench of a small country school, when we were 3 years old, that our paths crossed.

The idea of creating a joint project had obviously not yet been born, but our beautiful friendship was officially launched.

As we begin our higher education, geography divides us. Between Lille, Angers, Paris, Rennes, Canada, and even Poland, these five years have confronted us, like many of our peers, with the joys of moving...

When we were in Paris, while transporting our new sofa on the metro, we were fined €150 by the RATP because the objects accepted must not exceed 75 cm in their largest dimension... (I can tell you that we were well above that)!

If only it would stop at little anecdotes like this... In reality, the problem is less funny, more present, more constant.

Unnecessary trips, wasted time, renting a truck, unforeseen expenses... And always the same question: "What am I going to do with my furniture when I leave my apartment...?"

Talking to our friends and family about all these struggles, we realized that this problem wasn't just ours... It's the problem of almost all students!

So we asked ourselves: Is there not a concrete solution to this problem…?

More environmentally friendly? Less restrictive? More economical? More flexible? A service that would save us stress and long-term commitments?

You are never better served than by yourself...

So who better than students to meet student expectations!?

Today, we are proud to offer you the service we dreamed of during these five years of studies: KANAP.

Rent second-hand furniture that you need, for the duration of your choice, delivered and collected from your doorstep.

More than just a rental platform, it's a concrete response to the challenges of those who want comfortable accommodation, without having to travel or break the bank!

KANAP, made by students, for students.
